What You Should Look For In A Medical Pouch Sealer
A Medical Pouch Sealer is basically a heat sealer that is used to package things together with the use of heat. A heat sealer joins at least two thermoplastic materials, plastics that become moldable after reaching a certain temperature. Due to its sophisticated process, the resulting packaging is highly stable and completely sealed. Some common applications of heat sealing are:-
Heat sealing is used when plastics are involved and welding cannot take place, for example, screens, monitors, etc.
Heat sealing is employed to join LCDs to PCBs in many consumer electronics and other engineering and medical equipment.
Plastic bags and other packaging material use heat sealing.
Medical applications include - laminate films to avoid contamination of medical equipment, filter sheets and media for blood, virus, etc, and medical bags.
Features of a Medical Pouch Sealer
Seal Strength Testing of a Medical Pouch Sealer is done through several industry-standard tests:-
ASTM F88 & F24 - Testing of seal strength within flexible barriers.
ASTM F1140 & F2054 - Testing of packaging’s strength and precession.
ASTM D3078 - Vacuum Testing used to measure package integrity.
Different sealers may undergo different tests depending upon the type of use. Other useful feature to have in a pouch sealer:-
Visual Inspection - A technique that allows you to see the equipment or material under packaging without extracting it.
Calibration Check - A system that allows you to check the calibration of your device regularly.
Loading Tool - A tool that allows the loading of equipment with adequate spacing and with great efficiency.
